About Brown Cow Studio   YourArt.com member

Brown Cow Studio is a virtual studio that was created to allow emerging artist Sue Brown a place to organize and show her paintings. It is a much more navigable version of her real studio -- her kitchen.

The site maintains a small, but growing, portfolio of Sue's work. There you will find all of the paintings Sue has completed and had a chance to scan, since she bought her first paints and brushes in April 2002. They are arranged in chronological order. Each painting has its own dedicated page, where you can find out more about the painting. What's really exciting is that you can click on the image's thumbnail to open the image up in the Image Viewer. This will allow you to see the painting at its original size, so that you can scroll around and see details or shrink the image to fit your browser window. Most of the full-size images are quite manageable, even if you are using a dial-up modem. For those with slower connections, most pages in the portfolio contain links to less memory-intensive versions of the images as well. Sue has also added a "scrolling portfolio" for those of you who can use frames. There you can see all the thumbnails in a single horizontal scrolling frame.

In addition to the portfolio, Sue is building a useful resource page to help emerging and established artists locate anything from art forums to supplies to online lessons. There she also includes links to the websites of other independent artists whose work she would like to highlight.

She also hopes that collectors or those wanting to become collectors will find the resource page interesting and useful, especially those who think original art is only what you see in museums and expensive galleries and auction houses.

If you have any sites that you think should be added, please do not hesitate to contact Sue here.

Technical details: The website is best viewed with Javascript enabled, and with a monitor setting of 1024x768 and millions of colors, although we have tried to make it pleasant to navigate for those with smaller screen settings. (To learn how to change your screen resolution, click here.) The image gamma has been set to make the colors as accurate as possible on both Macs and PCs.
